CMAR presents a viewing of the documentary
"Mexican American Hispanic Legislative Caucus: The Texas Struggle for
Equality and Opportunity." The film will be followed by a panel
discussion of the issues
it raised from a variety of perspectives. Panel members include State
Representative Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa, local businessman Eddie Garcia,
health educator Patty
Mueller, and Mexican-American historian Dr. Anthony Quiroz. Moderating
will be Judge Linda Reyna Yanez, the first Hispanic Woman to
serve on an appeals court in the history of the state of Texas and is the first
woman to serve on the 13th Court of Appeals. Previously she taught at the
Harvard Law School.
